Conant Street closed in Maumee for traffic light replacement

MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now)- The replacement of a set of traffic signals is causing major delays along Conant Street in Maumee.

The city has closed Conant Street from Illinois Avenue to Holland Road. Local traffic is being allowed on the road, but no detour has been posted for other drivers.

The traffic light replacement is part of an ongoing repaving and reconstruction project along Conant Street.

War of 1812 lecture set for June 2 at Hayes Museum

FREMONT, OH (Press Release) - Lou Schultz, whose extensive collection of War of 1812 materials is the core of the current Hayes Museum exhibit War of 1812 on the Ohio Frontier, will be the guest speaker for a 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2 lecture in the Hayes Museum. Admission to the event is free.

Marco’s truck heads to Oklahoma with donations

MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now)- When
disaster strikes a town in any corner of the U.S., Toledoans rush in to help.
It's no different now, as the corporate division of Marco's Pizza is loading up
a huge semi truck of donations from the community to send to Moore, OK.

"They
had this tragedy happen so close to them," said Jim Strachan, with Marco's. "Even
though they are thousands of miles away from us in Toledo, it was like it
happened to us next door."

Power boating skills course set for June 6 & 7

OREGON, OH (Press Release) - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft is conducting a new Power Boating Basics Course that provides novice and untrained boaters the basic skills needed to properly and safely operate a power boat. The 8-hour course is open to the public and being offered June 6 and 7 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cullen Park, 4526 N. Summit St. Toledo, Ohio 43611.
