Northwest Ohio Rib-Off runs through Sunday at Lucas County Fairgrounds | News
MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) - The 29th annual Northwest Ohio Rib-Off got under way at the Lucas County Fairgrounds Thursday.
The event, which runs through Sunday, features seven national and three local restaurants. There are also rids for children, music and fair food.
Phil Vasser will perform Friday, followed by Ted Nugent on Saturday.
"Well you know it's a 29 year old tradition. I wasn't around when it started, but it's just been one of those things where we've got a mix of national ribbers - Armadillos, Pig Foot, Mojo's, they come in with their big systems and we also mix the local ribbers you get people that you do know from town and there's a little bit of a competition involved there and that's a lot of fun," said Mike Mori, director of the event.
The event will offer free admission Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and all day Sunday.
Friday – 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Saturday – 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Sunday – 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
